Our passion project
Our products contain high-quality ingredients that nature gives us. That's why we give something back: for every VITRACOSMETIC product sold, we donate a tree to the non-profit organisation Trees for the Future. It is planted by trained farmers in Africa, right on their own farms.
Trees for the Future in numbers
What we have already grown together
Since 1989, Trees for the Future has been helping smallholder families make depleted soils fertile again. Here is what has grown from it so far:
450M+
trees planted
63.700+
farming families in the programme
40,000 hectares
of restored land, about the size of 56,000 football pitches
+73 %
more food security after just the first year

How it works
From product to tree
Every product sold sets off a small chain of events that reaches far beyond our lab.
A product is sold
Lash serum, lip care or mask: for every VITRACOSMETIC product sold, we donate a tree.
We donate to Trees for the Future
The non-profit organisation uses the donation in its programmes in Africa, currently mainly in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Farmers plant
In a four-year programme, smallholder families receive training, seeds and seedlings. On average, around 5,800 trees grow on one farm this way.
A whole farm flourishes
Fruit trees such as mango, papaya and citrus, timber, living fences and vegetable beds grow together. The soil recovers and the harvest grows year after year.
Recognised by the United Nations
UN World Restoration Flagship
In 2024, UNEP and FAO named Trees for the Future one of seven “World Restoration Flagships”. This makes the organisation one of the world's best examples of large-scale, long-term ecosystem restoration.
Triple impact
Good for the climate, people and nature
At Trees for the Future, a tree never stands alone. It is part of a farm that feeds families and heals landscapes.
Protecting the climate
According to Trees for the Future's estimates, a regenerative farm binds around 9.8 tonnes of CO2 per hectare per year on average.
Reducing hunger
Bigger harvests mean more food on the table. Families sell their surplus at the market.
Creating income
Fruit, vegetables and timber give families their own income and more independence.
Empowering women
At least 50 per cent of the members of the farmer groups in the programme are women.
Healing soils
Compost, mixed cropping and living fences make depleted soils fertile again and protect them from erosion.
Promoting biodiversity
430 animal species, 580 plant species and 230 fungal species have already been recorded on the farms.
All figures according to Trees for the Future. Find out more about the organisation at trees.org.
